Job summary
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time Child Welfare Specialist to provide comprehensive casework services, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children by assisting families to meet parenting standards. The role involves coordination with schools, healthcare facilities, and community resources to support the child(ren)'s well-being.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, at least 1 year of experience, and relevant licenses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience required.
- State licensing/certification as required by Illinois DCFS.
Responsibilities
- Complete and submit all reports, documentation and billing accurately and timely.
- Participate in supervisory process for guidance and decision making.
- Coordinate with schools and healthcare facilities to promote child wellbeing.
- Assess family service needs and provide linkage to community resources.
- Ensure child safety during service delivery.
- Provide strength-based case management to address challenges.
