Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking a 2nd shift Child Welfare Services Team Leader to supervise case managers and ensure timely investigations and adherence to policy in the Investigations division. This role emphasizes safeguarding children, collaborating with families and professionals, and providing on-call support.

A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred, with Child Welfare experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision to case managers in Investigation, ensuring accountability.
• Conducts case consultations, coaching and training in line with policy.
• Ensures timely initial investigations and safety/risk addressing.
• Manages on-call duties and supports on-call staff.
• Promotes safety, permanency and well-being through fidelity to procedures.
• Prepares court documents and participates in team meetings.
