Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Two years of experience as County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college-level coursework in related social sciences.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 credits in related social sciences and one year in a similar paraprofessional case management role.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reports of mistreatment and respond to possible abuse to ensure child safety.
• Enter information into case records to maintain accurate and complete files.
• Provide intervention during emergencies and participate in on-call rotations.
• Participate in required instruction to achieve Caseworker Certification.
• Carry out tasks assigned by supervisors and assist with other responsibilities.

Education

Bachelor's degree with 12 college credits in sociology or related social sciences

Two years as County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college credits

Equivalent combination with 12 credits and paraprofessional case management
