Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated Substitute County Caseworker 1 in Fayette County to protect children and support families. You will investigate mistreatment, document cases, and respond to crises with on-call rotation participation.

Full-time, temporary position with hours 8:30 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday. Telework may be allowed up to one day per week after approval, with Pennsylvania-based location and required driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences.
• Two years as County Social Services Aide 3 plus two years of college coursework with 12 credits in related social sciences.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 credits and one year of paraprofessional case management.
• Applicants may meet education requirements within two months of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Investigate mistreatment reports and respond to abuse situations.
• Enter information into case records to maintain accurate files.
• Provide crisis intervention during emergencies and participate in on-call rotations.
• Complete required training to achieve Caseworker Certification.
• Assist supervisors and take on additional duties as needed.
