Job summary

The State of Indiana’s Department of Child Services is seeking a Family Case Manager to support families and protect children across Owen County. You will investigate reports of abuse or neglect, determine necessary protections, and work toward permanent homes or independent living for youths who cannot reunify with families.

Based in Spenser, IN, you’ll collaborate with agencies, maintain case files, and help guide families toward stability with a focus on safety and permanency for Indiana’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalently qualified by experience as listed.
• Experience in social services or child welfare is preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal child protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Investigate reported incidents of child abuse or neglect and make disposition recommendations.
• Assess risk to the child and determine protective actions as needed.
• Develop needs assessments and treatment options for families and children.
• Prepare reports and maintain case files for community protection teams.
• Develop case plans to promote family self-sufficiency and permanent outcomes.
• Monitor services and coordinate with treatment providers for consistency.
• Visit placements to support reunification, adoption, or independent living.
