The Spring Grove YMCA in Spring Grove, PA is seeking caring, energetic Child Watch Attendants to provide a welcoming, safe space for children while parents participate in YMCA programs. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current Adult & Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required.
• PA State Police Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance required.
• Mandated Reporter Certification required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Sound judgment and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and interactive play experiences.
• Use positive guidance and redirection techniques to encourage respectful behavior and positive interactions.
• Assist with daily routines, including room organization, cleanup, and restroom support as needed.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming environment while following YMCA health, safety, and infection-control procedures.
• Monitor child wellbeing and respond appropriately to incidents, injuries, or emergencies.
• Complete required attendance records, documentation, and incident reports accurately and promptly.
• Communicate effectively with families and fellow staff members while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support smooth child check-in and check-out procedures.
