Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a part-time Child Watch Attendant to ensure the safety and engagement of children in Child Watch areas across the facility. You will supervise activities, maintain a clean play space, and follow check-in/check-out procedures.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of childcare experience, are 18+, and can communicate in English (Spanish helpful).

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with children and infants.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; Spanish beneficial.
• Computer knowledge preferred.
• Complete Safe From Harm training within 30 days, and keep current.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or obtain within 45 days, and keep current.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, supervision and active entertainment of all children in Child Watch.
• Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the Child Watch area.
• Adhere to Safe From Harm guidelines; report concerns to leadership.
• Engage in developmental activities with the children.
• Follow check-in/checkout procedures for all children.
• Provide quality customer service to members and day pass users.
• Provide information about programs and activities at the Kroc Center.
• Maintain clear communications with other departments.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings as assigned.
