The Salvation Army Lodge in Chicago is seeking a dedicated nursery caregiver for children under six, ensuring safety, delivering engaging activities, and maintaining open communication with parents. You will supervise volunteers, follow policies, and report to the Social Services Manager.

Formal education in child development is preferred and CPR/First Aid certification is required. This role works in a nursery environment with exposure to moderate noise, requires light to moderate lifting up to

Qualifications

• Education preferred in child development.
• Experience preferred in child care.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a safe drop-in center environment for children under the age of 6.
• Oversee the safety of children at the center.
• Create educational and fun activities for the children.
• Ensure that the children’s needs are met, including but not limited to changing diapers, toileting, appropriate snacks and access to toys.
• Monitor interaction among the children.
• Maintain open communication with parents of the children.
• Supervise volunteers in the nursery, ensuring that they are assisting with child care.
• All other duties as assigned.
