Job summary

The City and County of Denver’s Denver Human Services is seeking an Intake Child Support Technician I to handle referrals, conduct intake interviews, and manage client records. You will verify information, request documentation, and determine case status for orders to be established, enforced, or modified.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least four years of office support experience; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
• Four (4) years of experience performing office support work
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages proficiently (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

• Receives, reviews and processes referrals from a variety of sources and determines the next appropriate actions needed to initiate the child support case
• Conducts intake interviews to assist clients with child support applications, gather information and documentation, and answer questions related to the child support process
• Performs research and investigative work to verify or collect necessary information and request documentation not received with the application or in the intake interview
• Enter and maintain accurate client records in various databases including demographic information
• Determines the status of a case and transfers it accordingly for child support orders to be established, enforced or modified
