Job summary

The City of Alexandria, VA is seeking a Family Services Specialist Supervisor to lead the Child Protective Services (CPS) unit within the Family Services area. Under general supervision, you will direct the activities of CPS Intake and In-Home staff and ensure services are delivered timely and respectfully.

You will plan, assign, review, and manage day-to-day work, provide policy guidance and training, and collaborate with the child welfare leadership team to improve local practices and outcomes

Responsibilities

• Directs the activities of a CPS unit of FSS, including CPS Intake and In-Home staff.
• Plans, assigns, reviews, and manages day-to-day work to ensure timely, accurate and courteous service.
• Provides direction, guidance, and training on policy and implements best practices for CPS areas.
