Job summary

The City of Alexandria's Department of Community and Human Services seeks a Family Services Supervisor to lead a Child Protective Services unit, overseeing CPS Intake and In-Home staff, ensuring timely, accurate, and compassionate service delivery in compliance with laws.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in a Human Services field (or equivalent experience) and supervisory experience; Spanish language skills and a Master’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a Bachelor's in any field with two years of related Human Services experience.
• Demonstrated supervisory leadership and the ability to guide staff in case management and service delivery.
• Solid knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations governing human services.
• Ability to plan, manage activities and make decisions in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative supervision to a team of social workers.
• Lead the CPS unit, coordinating intake and in-home services.
• Ensure timely, accurate, courteous service in line with applicable policies.
• Mentor staff and oversee performance evaluations and staff development.
