Qualifications

  • Associates' Degree in social work, Human Services, Counseling or related field preferred, plus relevant experience.
  • High school Diploma or GED required; two years in related field encouraged.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all cases and information.

Responsibilities

  • Handle intake calls/reports of child abuse and/or neglect.
  • Complete initial assessments on allegations of child abuse/neglect.
  • Assess risk and develop risk assessment findings.
  • Coordinate with Law Enforcement for investigations.
  • Initiate court involvement for abuse, status offense and juvenile offender cases.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate treatment plans.
  • Prepare case plans, court reports and maintain frequent court correspondence.
  • Conduct monthly home visits with wards, parents and others.
  • Enter data into the NFOCUS system and maintain records.
  • Attend court hearings and testify as required.
  • Conduct family assessments and home studies.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Transport wards to meetings, court hearings and appointments.
