Job summary

Mentor South Bay is seeking an Early Intervention Assistant to support group programming for children receiving Early Intervention services. You will help children work toward IFSP outcomes through structured activities, therapeutic play, and positive behavior support, working with a collaborative team.

The role involves hands-on support during sessions, preparation and cleanup, documentation, and participation in planning discussions to ensure alignment with developmental goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• One year of experience working with young children

Responsibilities

• Co-facilitate group activities by modeling skills and engaging children in play.
• Support group leaders in implementing developmentally appropriate activities aligned with IFSP outcomes.
• Assist in managing behavior using strategies from clinical staff to maintain a safe group environment.
• Provide one-on-one support to children during group activities and transitions.
• Prepare materials for toddler groups and arrange room for safe, engaging play.
• Assist with parent groups and support during parent-child activities.
