Job summary

Mentor South Bay is seeking a Developmental Therapist Associate to provide in-home early intervention for infants and toddlers across Massachusetts and Connecticut. You will join a collaborative team to support children with developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders through structured activities and family coaching.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant field required.
  • Experience with children under 5 required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with proof of insurance.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to manage relationships with families.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and deliver weekly in-home early intervention services for infants/toddlers with disabilities.
  • Administer and document assessments and updates to meet timelines.
  • Design and adapt activities for language, cognitive, motor, sensory, self-help, and social-emotional development.
  • Model positive adult-child interactions and provide parent coaching with weekly activities.
  • Monitor and share child progress with families and the team.

Developmental Therapist Associate

Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers where they can naturally learn and develop.

  • Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Early Intervention, Early Childhood, Special Education, Child Development, Child Studies, Psychology, or Social Work
  • Must have experience with children under 5
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
