Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a Child Development Specialist to conduct developmental screenings and assessments for children 0–5, develop individualized plans, and coordinate care with families and partners. The role emphasizes culturally competent care across multiple sites.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in a relevant field, pediatric experience, CPR certification, and bilingual English-Spanish abilities at designated sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, Education, or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Bilingual English-Spanish is required at designated sites; additional languages preferred.
• CPR (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental screenings and curriculum-based assessments for children ages 0–5.
• Interpret assessment results and communicate findings, recommendations, and anticipatory guidance to parents and caregivers.
• Develop, document, and implement individualized treatment plans and Home Activity Plans.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, Regional Center staff, and community partners.
• Complete all clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
