Job summary

WVU Parkersburg seeks a Child Development Director to lead the Child Development Program on the Main Campus in Parkersburg, WV. The role involves supervising faculty, coordinating evaluations, and managing program activities in a salary-exempt environment.

The position requires a Master’s degree with relevant graduate coursework, at least three years of early childhood experience, and strong leadership and communication skills. On-site work and regular campus collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in child development, early childhood education, curriculum and instruction, educational psychology, elementary education or related field with 18 graduate hours in early childhood education.
• Three years of contemporary professional experience in an early childhood setting.
• Strong leadership, planning and budget management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise faculty, adjuncts, and student workers.
• Provide input for annual evaluations and professional development.
• Collaborate on data collection, student records, and certification issues.
• Coordinate department meetings, calendar, and advising activities.
• Teach 3–6 credit hours per semester and maintain advising load.
