YWCA El Paso del Norte Region is seeking a dedicated classroom assistant to support children from birth to 12 years old. You will help implement age-appropriate curriculum, document developmental progress, and ensure a safe, healthy learning environment.

Responsibilities include daily health and safety checks, maintaining records, and fostering positive parent relationships. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work within YWCA policies and state standards.

Formación

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Experience working with and around children preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to follow direction from superiors required.
• Love of children, patience, stamina and flexibility required.
• Must be able to cope with emergencies and mediate or resolve disputes.
• Must be a self-starter, have creative energy, and be enthusiastic.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• English literacy required.
• Certifications (CPR, First Aid/SIDS, DFPS background check, FBI fingerprint, food handling) must be acquired prior to start and kept current.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in a classroom for children birth to 12 years old with routine records and teaching activities.
• Assist Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Interact positively with children individually and in groups.
• Maintain health and safety checks and classroom records per TD FPS and YWCA standards.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and participants.
• Attend meetings and required trainings; may take over group in teacher’s absence.
