Job summary

YWCA Central MA is seeking a Substitute Aide to support classroom activities in our childcare program. You will assist in implementing curriculum, supervise play, and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and you must be at least 18. You will interact with children and families, lift up to 50 pounds, and collaborate with the Lead Teacher to meet DEEC/QRIS standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Ability to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and engage in physical activity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing a curriculum and maintaining an environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace.
• Supervise children in play and structured activities; maintain teacher/student ratios at all times.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for children; perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Greet parents daily and ensure interactions are welcoming and inclusive.
• Follow directions from classroom teacher and communicate any unusual information regarding the children.
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
