Job summary

YWCA El Paso del Norte Region is seeking a part-time substitute teacher to assist in classrooms serving children from birth to 13 years old. Responsibilities include supporting teachers, coordinating site coverage, and ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will travel to assigned AEL sites as needed and must meet CAFS standards, possess a valid driver’s license, and commit to maintaining child safety and program guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with and around children in care/education preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to follow directions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal abilities.
• Must read, write and communicate in English; valid driver's license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a classroom for children birth to 13 years old with routine records and teaching activities.
• Coordinate job assignments for multiple sites with Early Learning Program Manager.
• Travel to assigned site for substitute teaching as needed.
• Support teachers with curriculum implementation and supervision.
• Maintain safe, healthy learning environment and adhere to policies and standards.
