Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Contact Worker for a 3-month contract with a Local Authority in Worcestershire. You will supervise family time sessions, ensure safety, observe interactions, and prepare factual reports based on your observations.

You will work closely with social workers and other professionals, upholding confidentiality and safeguarding standards while recording clear, objective information for potential court use.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people, or families.
• Experience within Social Care, Family Support, Youth Work, Residential Care, Education, Children's Services, or similar settings.
• Experience producing accurate written records and reports.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
• Ability to observe and record information objectively and factually.
• Desirable: experience working with vulnerable children and families.

Responsibilities

• Supervise contact sessions between children and family members.
• Ensure family time is safe, child-centred, and appropriate.
• Observe and monitor interactions during contact sessions.
• Produce accurate, factual, and professional written reports following each session.
• Maintain detailed records that may be submitted as evidence in court proceedings.
• Support children and families during supervised contact sessions.
• Promote safeguarding and the welfare of children at all times.
• Facilitate contact sessions within designated venues and community settings.
• Work collaboratively with social workers and other professionals.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
