Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced child care professional for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves engaging children, implementing curriculum, observing development and communicating progress to families.

You will supervise on-site staff and participate in planning meetings, with opportunities to contribute to the YMCA's community impact. The position emphasizes creating positive, inclusive learning environments and maintaining clear records, while supporting parent

Qualifications

• Degree in education or human services
• 2+ years child care experience (2500 hours)
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to pass clearances and trainings

Responsibilities

• Find engaging ways to help kids learn with positive reinforcement
• Plan curriculum for program and ensure child-centered, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Conduct and record weekly child observations and address behavior concerns or development with parents/guardians
• Communicate effectively with parents about children's progress while maintaining confidentiality
• Maintain daily attendance records and related paperwork
• Ensure learning centers are well-stocked and organized with learning materials
• Attend team planning meetings monthly or as needed
• Support annual fundraising campaigns and recruit donors/volunteers
• Supervise all staff on site
