Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced education or human services professional who loves helping children grow, connects to the community, and has fun at work. This role is for the 2026-2027 school year with a pay rate of 17.50 to 18.50 per hour and includes opportunities to learn and contribute.

You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, record observations, coordinate with families, supervise staff, and support the annual campaign.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited college/university in education or human services.
• 2+ years verified child care experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and keep up to date on trainings.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn while building self-esteem.
• Implement and plan curriculum with developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Record weekly child observations and address behavior concerns with families.
• Communicate effectively with parents and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain attendance, emergency contacts, allergy reports, and related paperwork.
• Ensure centers have quality learning materials and are organized.
• Attend team planning meetings monthly or as needed.
• Campaign for the Annual Campaign and help develop donors and volunteers.
• Supervise all staff on site.
