Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced educator for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on child-centered, developmentally appropriate learning experiences in a fun, inclusive setting and requires collaboration with families and staff.

Responsibilities include curriculum planning, observations, attendance and records, and on-site supervision. The organization offers YMCA membership and a flexible work schedule in a nonprofit community setting.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited college or university in an education or human services related field.
• 2+ years verified child care experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and keep trainings up to date.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn in positive environments.
• Implement and plan curriculum with child-centered learning experiences.
• Conduct weekly child observations and communicate concerns to parents/guardians.
• Be patient and kind with parents/guardians and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain attendance records, emergency binders, allergy reports, and paperwork.
• Ensure centers have quality learning materials and organized centers.
• Attend team-planning meetings monthly or more as needed.
• Campaign for the Annual Campaign and help develop donors and volunteers.
• Supervise all staff on site.
