Job summary

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is hiring for a school-year position paying $17.50–$18.50 per hour. You will join a passionate team to support children's learning, implement curriculum, document observations, and collaborate with families and staff to maintain a safe, engaging environment.

Requirements include a college degree in education or human services and 2+ years of verified child care experience, with eligibility for relevant clearances.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited college/university in education or human services.
• 2+ years verified child care experience (2500 hours).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Find engaging ways to help kids learn while maintaining environments that build children's self esteem.
• Plan and implement curriculum with child-centered, developmentally appropriate experiences using positive behavior support.
• Conduct and record weekly child observations and address any behavioral or developmental concerns with parents/guardians.
• Communicate effectively and promptly with parents/guardians about children's progress, maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain daily attendance, emergency contact binders, allergy reports, and related paperwork on time.
• Ensure centers have quality learning materials and organized learning centers.
• Attend team-planning meetings monthly or as needed.
• Campaign for Annual Campaign and develop donors and volunteers.
• Supervise all staff on site.
