Job summary

Learning Care seeks a dedicated Food Specialist to oversee school meals and snacks, ensuring nutrition and compliance with state and federal rules. You will prepare meals for children and staff, follow the published daily menu, and help with classroom support as needed.

This role offers a Monday–Friday work week, health insurance options, education assistance, and a 401(k) with company match. Limited medical coverage may apply for part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
• A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within school menu and budget; prepare meals and snacks for children and staff.
• Follow daily menu; ensure compliance with USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and reorder as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
