Havenwyck Hospital, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a Mental Health Technician for the night shift (FT, 36 hours/week). The role supports admissions, discharges and transfers under RN supervision, fosters safety, and provides compassionate care in a therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, with preference for college coursework in psychology or related fields and experience with emotionally disturbed patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of college in psychology, social work, mental health, or related field.
• Experience in dealing with emotionally disturbed patients preferred.
• Must be in good standing for internal transfers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers under RN supervision.
• Monitor patients for verbal/non-verbal cues of potential aggression and help de-escalate.
• Report changes in sensory perception to RN and ensure patient safety.
• Provide care that respects safety, rights, comfort and a therapeutic environment.
• Complete documentation related to admissions, discharges and transfers.
