Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a Mental Health Technician for full-time night shifts (7:00 pM–7:30 AM) with every-other-weekend requirements. The role supports admissions, safety monitoring, and daily living activities within a therapeutic environment under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for two years of college in psychology or related fields; experience with emotionally disturbed patients is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of college in psychology, social work, mental health, or related fields.
• Experience working with emotionally disturbed individuals is preferred.
• Employees must be in good standing for internal transfers.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from nursing leadership and hospital policies.
• Report patient medical problems to the Registered Nurse.
• Monitor safety and de-escalate when needed; communicate issues to the RN.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and support independence.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers and complete documentation.
