Job summary

Forge Search in Sumter, SC is seeking a Chief Structural Engineer to lead a commercial engineering team focused on precast and prestressed concrete projects. You will own design, calculations, and delivery across multiple projects while supervising four drafters and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 5+ years of structural experience, and a strong background in precast/concrete systems.

Qualifications

PE licensure required in SC, NC, GA or ability to obtain
5+ years of structural engineering experience
Experience with precast or prestressed concrete preferred
Experience supervising engineers and drafters

Responsibilities

Lead the structural engineering and design efforts for commercial precast and prestressed concrete projects.
Design precast concrete systems, components, connections, and associated structural details.
Perform engineering calculations and develop details for precast products and connections.
Independently manage the engineering design aspects of multiple projects from design through completion.
Review and stamp erection drawings, structural calculations, repair details, and other engineering documents as required.
Supervise and support a team of four drafters, coordinating workloads and ensuring project success.
Attend project meetings and lead engineering and coordination meetings with stakeholders.
Monitor and review engineering calculations and designs for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Coordinate with production, project management, erection, and other internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform field observations and represent the engineering department on project sites when required.
