EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Chief Software Engineer to lead an AI-powered financial assistant platform.

You will steer end-to-end engineering, define scalable backend architectures, and partner with business users to rapidly iterate on chat, reporting, and bespoke investment interfaces. Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of an AI-powered assistant platform from concept to production.
• Design scalable service architectures and define reliability, security, and performance requirements.
• Build backend APIs and services in Python using FastAPI to support chat and reporting workflows.
• Integrate LLM capabilities and apply AI-assisted development methods to accelerate delivery.
• Translate high-level goals into detailed requirements, edge cases, and implementation plans.
• Collaborate directly with business users to test, refine, and ship iterative product improvements.
• Implement automated testing, observability, and incident-ready practices to maintain quality.
• Deploy and operate services using cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.
• Review code and enforce engineering standards for maintainability and correctness.
• Mentor engineers and drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence.
