Job summary

Albers Aerospace seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, Sensors to lead sensor development across IR/EO, LRF/LiDAR, RF systems. You will own system architectures, interfaces, and performance budgets from concept to production, guiding multidisciplinary teams through design reviews and tests.

The role requires strong electronics knowledge, FPGA/embedded processing, and the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, RF Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Chief Engineer and technical authority for sensor programs.
• Develop sensor architectures, requirements, interfaces, performance budgets, and baselines.
• Lead design and development of sensing systems including IR/EO, LRF/LiDAR, RF sensing.
• Provide leadership across optics, RF, electronics, FPGA, firmware, packaging, and system integration.
• Identify critical risks early and plan mitigations.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and supply chain for production transition.
• Mentor engineers and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Communicate status and recommendations to leadership and customers.
