Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking a Head of Safety, Robot Operations to lead safety vision for our autonomous delivery operations. You will shape governance, standards, and continuous improvement across robot deployment, service management, and field operations.

This strategic role partners with Operations, Engineering, Product, Hardware, Reliability, and Legal to identify risks, prevent incidents, and raise the safety bar as we scale globally.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience leading safety programs in high-reliability tech/robotics environments.
• Experience building enterprise-scale safety management systems from the ground up.
• Strong risk management, hazard identification, incident investigation, and preventive controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety strategy and governance for autonomous robot operations.
• Develop safety management systems, policies, SOPs, and governance mechanisms.
• Own incident investigations, root-cause analyses, corrective actions, and lessons‑learned programs.
• Develop safety metrics, dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting.
• Lead emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity planning.
