Job summary

Merit Health Natchez is seeking a Chief Quality Officer (CQO) to lead hospital-wide quality improvement and performance initiatives, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards and regulatory requirements. The CQO will coordinate across departments, medical staff, and administration to drive patient safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred in Public Health, Healthcare Quality, or related field.
• 5–7 years of direct nursing/quality management/performance improvement experience.
• 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing/quality management.

Responsibilities

• Oversees development and implementation of performance improvement plans with regulatory alignment.
• Chairs the performance improvement committee and leads quality improvement efforts.
• Acts as primary JC-related contact for surveys, applications, and correspondence.
• Provides education on quality standards and regulatory updates to staff.
• Maintains records of performance improvement activities for reviews.
• Coordinates medical staff PI activities with clinical teams to improve outcomes.
