Job summary

Laredo Medical Center seeks a Chief Quality Officer to lead hospital-wide quality improvement and ensure regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and DOH standards. The CQO will coordinate performance initiatives across departments, oversee education, and drive accreditation readiness.

This role requires strong leadership, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with clinical teams to enhance patient outcomes and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Quality, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of direct nursing, quality management, or performance improvement experience.
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing, quality management, or performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees development, coordination, and implementation of the hospital’s performance improvement plan.
  • Acts as a quality liaison between all hospital departments, medical staff, and administration.
  • Chairs the performance improvement committee and ensures JC and accreditation compliance.
  • Serves as primary contact for JC surveys, applications, and correspondence.
  • Provides education to staff on quality standards and regulatory updates.
  • Maintains records of performance improvement activities for regulatory reviews.
