Job summary

Merit Health Natchez is seeking a Chief Quality Officer (CQO) to lead and coordinate hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance with the Joint Commission. The CQO will liaison across departments, medical staff, and administration to drive performance improvement and patient safety.

The role requires expertise in quality standards, data-driven improvement, and effective education of staff on regulatory updates, with leadership responsibilities across committees

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred in Public Health, Healthcare Quality, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversees development, coordination, and implementation of the hospital’s performance improvement plan.
• Acts as quality liaison between hospital departments, medical staff, committees and administration.
• Chairs the performance improvement committee and ensures JC and accreditation compliance.
• Primary contact for JC surveys, applications, and related correspondence.
