Job summary

Northwest Medical Center is seeking a Chief Quality Officer to lead hospital‑wide quality improvement and performance initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance with Joint Commission standards. You will coordinate departments, teach staff on quality methods, and chair the performance improvement committee to drive patient care excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in public health, healthcare quality, or related field preferred.
  • 5–7 years of direct experience in nursing, quality management, or performance improvement.
  • 5–7 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of JC standards, CMS requirements, and DOH regulations.
  • 5–7 years of clinical nursing experience at an acute care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees development, coordination, and implementation of the hospital's performance improvement plan.
  • Acts as a quality liaison between departments, staff, and administration to ensure cohesive quality initiatives.
  • Chairs the performance improvement committee and ensures compliance with Joint Commission regulations.
  • Serves as primary contact for JC activities, surveys, applications, and correspondence.
  • Provides education on quality standards, improvement methodologies, and regulatory updates.
  • Develops in‑service education programs to enhance knowledge of quality improvement and regulatory standards.
  • Maintains complete records of all improvement activities and ensures documentation for regulatory reviews.
  • Updates staff on changes to regulatory standards and communicates new quality initiatives.
  • Leads JC Task Force to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
  • Coordinates medical staff performance improvement activities with clinical teams to improve outcomes.
