Job summary

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families in Rhode Island seeks a Chief, Program Development to lead planning, development and evaluation of department programs at the Rhode Island Training School / Division of Youth Development.

Preferred education includes a Master’s Degree in Public Administration or related field, with experience in program development in human services. The role requires strong liaison, coordination with agencies, and program evaluation expertise.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, social sciences, or related field.
• Experience in program development in human services.
• Knowledge of federal, state and community resources and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development and research for department programs to coordinate and improve services.
• Act as liaison between director and division heads to coordinate programs and develop new initiatives.
• Coordinate programs with other state departments and local governments or community groups.
• Evaluate existing programs and plan expansions, modifications or eliminations as needed.
• Develop reports and assist with federal grant requests and compliance.
