Shionogi Inc. invites an accomplished Executive Director, Head of US Procurement to lead the enterprise procurement function.

Reporting to the VP, Finance, this role shapes strategy, sourcing, contracting, and governance across Commercial, Medical, R&D, and more, delivering measurable savings while strengthening controls and supplier risk management. You will drive category strategies, partner with Legal on complex contracts, embed procurement in budgeting cycles, and align with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain, engineering, or life sciences.
• MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 15 years in procurement/strategic sourcing; 7 years leadership in procurement.
• Pharma/biotech industry exposure across multiple spend categories.
• Proven track record of building or transforming procurement with sustained savings.
• Expert negotiation skills with complex enterprise agreements.
• Hands-on with source-to-pay platforms (Coupa preferred) and ERP systems (SAP/JDE/NetSuite).
• Strong SOX/internal controls knowledge and healthcare compliance.
• Executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Professional certifications CPSM/CIPS/CSCP preferred.
• M&A due diligence and post-merger integration experience preferred.
• Experience in Japanese/global multinational settings; cross-cultural collaboration.
• Product launches and specialty/rare disease familiarity.
• Analytics, digital, or AI-enabled procurement solution experience.
• Lean Six Sigma or process excellence background preferred.

Responsabilités

• Define and execute a multi-year enterprise procurement strategy and operating model.
• Establish category strategies across key spend areas and lead competitive sourcing events.
• Lead negotiation of high-value supplier agreements with Legal-backed terms.
• Set annual savings targets and report value to senior leadership.
• Implement supplier governance, KPIs, and risk management across critical vendors.
• Own procure-to-pay policies and SOX compliance; optimize source-to-pay processes.
• Ensure healthcare regulations and data privacy are met in supplier engagement.
• Build spend visibility and analytics using digital tools.
• Support due diligence and integration of acquisitions and harmonization of contracts.
• Align global category strategies with international teams and Shionogi partners.
• Champion sustainability and supplier diversity initiatives.
• Govern third-party spend across the U.S.
• Maintain significant decision-making authority within Delegation of Authority.
