Job summary

The National Cancer Institute’s Center for Cancer Research seeks an outstanding pathologist leader to direct its Laboratory of Pathology (LP) in Bethesda, MD. This senior role oversees anatomic pathology services across NIH Institutes, provides scientific vision for future emphasis, and supports translational research within CCR and the NIH Clinical Center.

Ideal candidates hold an MD/PhD or equivalent, are board-certified pathologists, and have a record of leadership and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Board-certified pathologist with an MD/PhD or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring across clinical and translational research.
• Experience directing anatomic pathology services in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee anatomic pathology services for NIH Institutes and CCR.
• Provide vision and oversight for an active research program within CCR.
• Lead the Lab of Pathology as a tenured-equivalent department chair.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaborations and translational research initiatives.
