Job summary

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) seeks an internationally recognized leader to direct its Laboratory of Pathology (LP) in the CCR. This tenured chair-equivalent role blends clinical service, translational research, and educational leadership for NIH clinicians and external investigators.

The Chief will oversee anatomic pathology services across NIH Institutes, guide a robust research program, and lead a residency program and biospecimen initiatives, with access to state-of-the-art technology

Qualifications

• Board-certified pathologist with MD or MD/PhD.
• Established leadership track record in pathology.
• Proven mentoring and educational oversight capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Laboratory of Pathology within CCR at NIH.
• Oversee anatomic pathology services across NIH Institutes and clinical trials.
• Lead a robust, integrated research program and residency training.
• Develop science-based initiatives for biospecimen handling and processing.
