Job summary

The National Cancer Institute’s Center for Cancer Research (CCR) at NIH invites outstanding scientists to lead independent research groups and conduct cutting-edge cancer research. Successful candidates may be appointed as NIH tenured Senior Investigators with access to extensive NIH technology platforms and interdisciplinary collaborations across NIH and the Clinical Center.

Positions are located in Frederick, Maryland and require significant in-person on-site presence. A Ph.D., M.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent required.
• Exceptional record of scientific achievement in cancer research.
• Proven effectiveness in mentoring and leadership for tenure at NIH.

Responsibilities

• Lead internationally recognized research programs in cancer biology and translational science.
• Manage a research group with independent funding and mentorship of trainees.
• Collaborate across NCI, NIH, and clinical centers to translate discoveries from bench to bedside.
