Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director of Pathology to provide scientific leadership across our research and development portfolio. You will interpret clinical pathology data, guide biomarker strategies, and support regulatory submissions in a fast-paced biotech setting.

You will mentor pathology scientists, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and influence program decisions from discovery through early development.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of pathology experience in biotech, pharma or CRO.
• Veterinary degree with ACVP/ECVP board certification in clinical pathology.
• PhD preferred but not required in lieu of pathology experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel for essential activities.

Responsibilities

• Clinical pathology assessment of preclinical results for platform and program support.
• Review non-GLP and GLP study clinical pathology data.
• Interpret and report findings to program teams and broader audiences.
• Contribute clinical pathology reviews for regulatory filings.
• Consult on preclinical study design and interpretation.
• Mentor pathology staff and collaborate across the team.
• Share translational expertise across Research and Early Development.
• Participate in group, department and company meetings.
