Job summary

Trusted Advisory Group in Washington DC seeks a Managing Director of Operations to shape the firm's growth. You will lead a small, high-impact team, build scalable processes, and ensure exceptional client experiences while preserving the firm's reputation.

You will develop a roadmap in the first year, coach Directors and Project Managers, strengthen project delivery, and partner with the Founder to drive strategic growth across professional services in the construction and owner’s representation

Qualifications

• Leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams of 10+ including Directors and PMs.
• Executive leadership experience in operations, project delivery, or a comparable function responsible for people and results.
• Ability to assess an existing organization, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes without disrupting day-to-day operations.
• Strong client relationships as a trusted executive representative of the organization.
• Business acumen with experience overseeing operational performance, budgets, staffing utilization, or P&L responsibility.
• Experience building scalable operational systems that support growth.
• Establishing accountability, KPIs, performance expectations, and reporting across multiple leaders.
• Balancing operational execution with strategic leadership to support long-term growth.
• Supporting business development by evaluating pursuits and capacity with growth objectives.
• Leading operations within growing professional services or construction management contexts.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen project delivery, operational performance and metrics across the organization.
• Coach Directors and Project Managers through performance discussions and mentoring to improve leadership effectiveness.
• Strengthen client relationships and drive strategic growth by evaluating business development initiatives with the Founder & Managing Principal.
