Job summary

WaffleLabs, Inc. is seeking its first business hire to own the company’s operating backbone, including finance, compliance, corporate administration and people operations, reporting to the CEO and working with the founders in NYC.

You will lead these functions end to end and shape how we operate as we scale. From day one you’ll have ownership, with potential to evolve into leading a core function such as operations or finance and build a team around it.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting/audit (Big 4 or equivalent) or as Chief of Staff/operator at a high-growth startup.
• Hands-on: filing registrations and building forecasts.
• Clear writer and communicator who can turn complex information into crisp decks or memos.
• Discretion with sensitive information.
• Fluent with modern AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Finance operations: bookkeeping, month-end close, payroll, budgeting, runway forecasting, tax filings.
• Compliance and corporate admin: registrations, insurance, contracts, vendors, banking, records, board materials, cap table, equity administration.
• People operations: hiring logistics, onboarding/offboarding, benefits, policies, handbook.
• Strategic materials: decks for customers, investors, partners, and data-room prep.
• CEO partnership: translate priorities into plans and ensure execution; scheduling and travel logistics as needed.
