Job summary

Hope Villages of America (HVA) in Clearwater, FL seeks a Chief of Staff - Strategic Operations to serve as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO. You will translate strategy into actionable plans, coordinate leadership across food, domestic violence, and housing programs, and supervise cross-functional initiatives to advance HVA’s mission.

The role requires strong leadership, governance experience with a nonprofit board, and a background in strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience including cross-functional project management, operations, or strategic planning.
• Experience supporting a Board of Directors and knowledge of nonprofit governance practices.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into operational plans, track performance measures, and hold teams accountable.
• Knowledge of human or social services is a plus; familiarity with the Pinellas County nonprofit community is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the President & CEO.
• Translate priorities and organizational strategy into clear plans, responsibilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Provide timely information, analysis, and recommendations on organizational matters.
• Identify issues requiring executive attention and facilitate cross-department solutions.
• Represent the President & CEO internally when appropriate.
• Coordinate Leadership Team meetings, priorities, action items, and follow-up.
• Ensure major commitments have clear ownership and timelines.
• Help resolve cross-department issues and remove barriers to execution.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.
• Lead or coordinate major strategic and cross-functional initiatives.
• Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, risks, and opportunities.
• Support governance activities with the Board and committees.
