Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Baltimore, MD, seeks a Chief of Staff Manager/Project Management 1 to support an Operating Unit within the Global Mission Solutions BU. On-site role reporting to the Operating Unit Director, focusing on program oversight, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s with 3–5 years in government contracts or program management, strong analytics, and proficiency with Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s with relevant experience supporting U.S. Government contracts, program or project management, and business operations.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating project activities, schedules, and stakeholder requirements.
• Experience analyzing financial performance, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Experience developing and presenting briefings and status reports to senior leadership.
• Experience in a regulated environment, including defense contracting or government procurement.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint for business analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of the Operational Units Annual Operating Plan and Long-Range Strategic Plan investments.
• Provide high-level strategic advice on financial performance and resource allocation.
• Track financial and operational metrics and offer insights to improve performance.
• Lead initiatives to improve productivity and financial performance within the P&L structure.
• Monitor budgets and investments, identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare financial reports and forecasts with actionable recommendations.
• Prepare Operating Unit Director for senior meetings with relevant information and talking points.
• Ensure deliverables are coordinated and delivered on-time across divisions.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment and clear internal communication.
