Job summary

KB Custom Ag Services seeks a strategic Vice President of Logistics Operations to guide the commodities hauling division from client onboarding through regulatory compliance and profitability. You will translate corporate strategy into day-to-day execution, overseeing planning, pricing, and fleet utilization while partnering with the COO to shape the service line.

The role demands 10+ years in logistics with senior leadership, proven client relationships, and strong P&L oversight.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in logistics, transportation, or commodities hauling.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven success in building high-value client relationships.
• Strong background in operations management, P&L, and compliance oversight.
• Deep understanding of DOT and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).

Responsibilities

• Identify, target, and develop relationships with ideal clients in the commodities sector.
• Negotiate and structure long-term contracts balancing competitiveness with profitability.
• Lead client onboarding to ensure seamless operational integration and satisfaction.
• Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and profitability.
• Forecast equipment, staffing, and skill needs to meet demand.
• Collaborate with leadership to align business-unit goals with corporate objectives.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and service quality.
• Lead and mentor the Operations Manager and Staff Accountant.
• Establish and track performance metrics for service delivery and costs.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and industry regulations.
• Monitor and adapt policies for regulatory changes.
• Manage the business unit's P&L and revenue growth.
• Approve major capex, including fleet and technology investments.
• Collaborate with accounting to produce forecasts, budgets, and financial reports.
