Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer for one of our inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Tennessee. This leadership role focuses on advancing nursing practice, quality outcomes, and patient-centered care across disciplines.

You'll drive policy, staffing, and program development while collaborating with medical staff to uphold Joint Commission standards and high-quality care across the network.

Qualifications

• Leadership in nursing for inpatient rehab settings

• Experience managing budgets and staffing

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and therapeutic disciplines to foster a patient-focused, team-oriented culture.
• Develop patient care programs, policies, and procedures to outline nursing needs and care delivery.
• Represent nursing on committees such as Governing Body, Quality Council, Med Exec, Infection Control, Education, and Ethics.
• Support diversity and maintain an inclusive, respectful work environment.
• Cultivate an environment that enables the hospital to meet its mission and motivate staff.
• Implement Joint Commission, CMS, state, rehabilitation nursing, and hospital standards.
• Utilize staffing matrices to align with patient acuity and budgeted NHPPD; analyze data for program improvements.
• Celebrate staff and patient achievements along the way.

Qualifications

• PossessacurrentRNlicensureasrequiredbystate regulations.
• HoldBLScertification(ACLSpreferred).
• CommittoobtainingCRRNcertificationwithinayearofmeetingtheeligibilityrequirements.
• PossessaBachelor'sDegreeinNursingorarelatedfield,unlessahigherdegreeismandatedby state regulations.
• Advanced Degree, plan to receive an advanced degree, or knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree required unless otherwise specified by state regulation.
• Fiveyearsofexperienceinaninpatienthospitalsetting.
• Two years of recent (within the last 5 years) Nursing Management experience, with responsibilitiesincluding24-houraccountability,FTEmanagement,policy,procedure,and budgetary oversight, as well as conducting disciplinary action.
• Mayberequiredtoworkweekdaysand/orweekends,eveningsand/or nightshifts.
• Mayberequiredtoworkonreligiousand/orlegalholidaysonscheduleddays/shifts.
