Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a trusted executive to lead Stratton Mountain Resort's Mountain Operations as Vice President, driving safety, guest experience, and long‑term strategic success.

The role oversees Snowmaking, Grooming, Lift Operations and Maintenance, Terrain Parks, and Transportation, with a team of approximately 400. Strong leadership and financial stewardship are essential for ongoing capital and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in ski resort mountain operations.
• Proven ability to lead complex, seasonal organizations and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong technical understanding of mountain operations, infrastructure, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven financial acumen, including operating budgets, capital planning, and project oversight.

Responsabilités

• Provide executive oversight of all Mountain Operations functions to ensure safe, reliable, and guest-focused operations year-round.
• Lead strategic direction, priorities, and performance expectations for Mountain Operations aligned with resort objectives.
• Develop and mentor department leaders, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Balance safety, guest experience, financial performance, and resource stewardship in decision making.
• Oversee capital planning and infrastructure projects including lift systems, snowmaking, and fleet.
• Cultivate relationships across departments and with external partners to support execution of strategic initiatives.
