Job summary

The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) seeks a transformational Chief Executive Officer to lead its executive team, oversee all aspects of transit operations, and drive strategic policy for public transportation.

The CEO will collaborate with the Board, engage diverse communities, and ensure cost-effective, high-quality services across multiple transit modalities that move residents and visitors alike.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Business Administration, Management, Transportation, or related field, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Ten (10) years of experience in progressively more responsible executive-level administration and management in a transit organization involving major policy development and decision-making.
• Previous experience in multi-modal transit systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the executive leadership team and oversee the overall administration and operation of the Transit System activities.
• Establish a collaborative, transparent relationship with the Board and communicate with customers, employees and stakeholders.
• Conceive, develop, and implement effective means of providing responsive public transportation to the communities served.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Master’s in Business Administration, Management, Transportation, or related field
