Job summary

Regional Transportation District (RTD) seeks an experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead RTD’s mission of delivering safe, reliable mobility and exceptional customer service. You will set strategic direction, build partnerships with officials and communities, and champion a culture of inclusion across the agency.

The role requires strong financial oversight, public communication, and a track record of driving performance.

Qualifications

• Ten years of management experience with at least five years in executive leadership at a large transit agency or similar complexity.
• Experience leading both union and non‑union staff is highly desired.
• Equivalent education/experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead RTD with a public-facing role, guiding strategy and brand voice.
• Oversee marketing and public outreach to promote RTD.
• Foster diversity, equity and inclusion across all levels.
• Develop partnerships with local/state officials and stakeholders.
• Oversee asset management for aging fleet and infrastructure.
• Identify and secure grants and funding to support operations and capital programs.
